Fortune-tellers and psychics. What’s the the difference?
Okay leave out the crap where they’re fakes blah blah blah. This is for my project. I’m going to make a research paper about fortune-tellers and psychics. What’s the difference between the two? And if you have something to suggest for my paper, go ahead 🙂

Fortune-tellers show you a future path that is supposedly set.
Psychics give you options about future choices and prespective on past and present issues.

a psychic is some body who can see hear and sense the other side. they can also communicate with people who have already passed away. fortune tellers cannot do any of these things they can only tell you what your going to do in the future. most gypsies are fortune tellers and you usually can find them at carnivals you might want to include the difference between a psychic and a medium, cause there is an interesting difference

I would say that fortune tellers are a specific niche of psychics who deal more with precognition (the seeing of what is to come in the future). The word “Psychic” is really an umbrella term that deals with many different types of ‘abilities.’ It’s like asking what the difference between a clothing store and a Hot Topic is. A fortune teller is always considered a form of psychic, but a psychic is not necessarily always a fortune teller!

Many people who consider themselves Christian/Catholic do go to fortune tellers. While some consider it devil’s work (particularly as there are a lot of scammers who use fortune telling as their lure) others see it as a way to talk to God and receive answers.
The absolute best way to ensure you don’t get scammed is to just learn to do it yourself — card reading can be easily learned, for example (I recommend The Cartomancer’s Key by Talia Felix). I Ching is another system that can be learned (for this I recommend Super I Ching by Alex Chiu or R.L. Wing’s I Ching Workbook) and also palm reading can be done by skill (I recommend The Complete Encyclopedia of Practical Palmistry by Marcel Broekman.) Being a psychic is really the only thing you have to have a natural talent for.
However, as you specify you want to *go to* a fortune-teller, this can be tricky. If you want to see one in person, you might be limited by what’s availible in your area, and it’s perfectly possible there are no honest fortune tellers in your area. Online sources are sometimes good, and they are easier to get reviews about. If you go to a fortune teller, beware of any who say you are cursed or have a blockage on your fortune, and try to make you buy a spell or a candle from them to fix it!
