How does astrology work if constellations are only markers for signs?
My friends who like astrology say that it doesn’t matter at all that constellation locations change, since the constellations don’t cause the influence. They’ve told me that each sign is marked out by 30 degree, and it’s some other force that causes it. What exactly is it then that causes the influence?

No one ever explains what kind of force or how it is detected and measured. It would have to be a lot of different forces, one from each planet. Do they obey the laws of physics like the other know forces? Why is angle important but not distance?
The real influence is the belief. Belief is often more powerful than the truth.
“My objection to supernatural beliefs is precisely that they miserably fail to do justice to the sublime grandeur of the real world. They represent a narrowing-down from reality, an impoverishment of what the real world has to offer.”

No one knows the mechanism by which astrology works. It wouldn’t be gravity, because there would be many cases where that suggestion could be disputed. I have my own ideas involving superstring theory and spatial dimensions.
Some types of astrology do use the constellations, and account for the changes as well. They want to keep the 30 degree interval for smoothness and exactness in intervals of 360 degrees. There are also types of astrology which use the “fixed” stars and interpretations per degree.
I’ve been following various types of astrology for some time now, since I enjoy the study of ancient cultures and that is a part of the history.

What happened to Astrology after Pluto is not a planet anymore?
I know astrology uses all the planets to make predictions and all of that stuff.
But Pluto is not a planet anymore, so what happened?
What about the other “Dwarft Planets” like Pluto?
Did anything changed?

Astrology was already flawed because there are thirteen, not twelve, houses.
Ophiuchus – November 30th through December 17th.

I think you mean “has” anything changed. And other than thoughts on what should and should be a planet, no.
Suggestion by Nyx
I would imagine that it had to adapt the same way it had to when Neptune and Uranus were discovered before Pluto.
